PowerTreat* Coal Dust Control & Suppression

The PowerTreat portfolio brings together a group of solutions that support safe material handling, dust mitigation and coal anti-oxidation for customers in the power industry. It includes patented chemical compounds that are to control dust and maximize fuel value. 

  • Reduced dusting from barge or railcar unloading to the plant building –

PowerTreat FD Foam Dust Control Agent

PowerTreat FD products are foaming agents used to provide high expansion ration foam for suppressing dust transfer points while minimizing moisture addition to the coal. From the crushers to the coal bunkers, foam dust suppression is effective in controlling fugitive dust.

PowerTreat AD Series

PowerTreat AD Antioxidant Dust Control Agent 

PowerTreat AD products are patented antioxidants and dust control binders applied to coal that is directed to short term storage piles. The application is designed to inhibit oxidation of coal while controlling dust through agglomeration of fines. PowerTreat AD products can be applied using wet sprays or through body feed foam. 

  • Retards the oxidation and weathering of subbituminous coals, such as Powder River Basin (PRB) coals.
  • Significantly reduces hot spots, smokers and spontaneous combustion at active storage piles, surge bins and coal bunkers.
  • Reduces dusting during loading, unloading, stack-out and reclamation. 
     

PowerTreat DA Series

PowerTreat DA Agglomerant Dust Control 

PowerTreat DA products are dust control binders applied to coal sent to short- or long-term storage. Coal type or rank and pile storage duration are factors that determine the most effective product selection. PowerTreat DA products can be applied to the bulk coal at a transfer point or surface applied to long-term piles.

  • Retards the oxidation and weathering of subbituminous coals, such as Powder River Basin (PRB) coals.
  • Significantly reduces hot spots, smokers and spontaneous combustion at active storage piles, surge bins and coal bunkers.
  • Reduces dusting during loading, unloading, stack-out and reclamation.
